About

What is a doula?

A birth doula is a professional who has been trained in childbirth to offer physical comfort, emotional support, educational guidance, and nonclinical advice to expectant mothers, those in labor, and those who have recently given birth. The goal of a doula is to ensure that women have a memorable, empowering, and safe birthing experience. In addition to providing comfort, a doula also provides reassurance, and in some cases, advocacy for the mother and baby.
